Two National Guardsmen have been shot in downtown Washington near the White House, according to multiple officials.
The Metropolitan Police Department said it is on the scene of a shooting at 17th and I streets.
“The scene is secured. One suspect is in custody,” The Metropolitan Police Department said.
According to a D.C. police official, there was an active shooter incident at 2:20 p.m. ET at the entrance to the Farragut West Metro station.
